These articles were written and submitted by young people across Kent, between August 2016 and July 2019. We are no longer adding new articles or maintaining old ones. Read more about Art31.

ART31 think there should be a 7th Way to Wellbeing – creativity and the arts. To support this, members of Gulbenkian’s ART31 group have put together four short, stop-motion animations.

Maeve, Anna and Angus from the group said:

”Our animation highlights the benefits the arts have on mental health for those of all ages. Kent County Council created an action plan of 6 ways to promote better mental health in Kent and Medway. We believe a 7th way to wellbeing should introduce the arts as at least 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health issue each year. Therefore our animation features a character who struggles with depression, but after discovering different art forms their mental wellbeing improves.”
